The Roxelyn and Richard Pepper Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the School of Communication at Northwestern University is pleased to announce the availability of a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric hearing.

 

The Lambert Family Translational Fellowship is designed to train clinician-scientists who will become leaders in translational communication science and disorders and help reduce the critical time gap between discovery and implementation in practice. The focus of this fellowship is in the general area of hearing and hearing loss in children, including the speech, language, and learning consequences of hearing loss.

 

The successful applicant will be a doctoral-level licensed speech-language pathologist (PhD, CCC-SLP) or audiologist (AuD/PhD). The fellow will conduct research in one of the many world-renowned research laboratories in the Roxelyn and Richard Pepper Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders housed in the School of Communication. There is potential for a multidisciplinary project and will depend on the successful candidate’s experience and interests. The fellow will also participate in direct clinical service provision in the Center for Audiology, Speech, Language, and Learning. The Center for Audiology Speech, Language, and Learning (NUCASLL) is housed in a brand new, state-of-the art facility on the Northwestern University’s Evanston campus. The multidisciplinary center offers a variety of audiology, speech, language, and learning services for patients of all ages and serves as an exceptional educational setting for graduate students.

 

Employment term: A 2-year appointment beginning on later than January 1, 2016.

 

Qualifications: 

1.     Ph.D. in speech, language, hearing, or a related field

2.     Eligibility for Illinois SLP or AUD licensure

3.     Interest or experience in translational research

4.     Clinical experience with children with hearing loss

 

 Salary: NIH postdoctoral salary
