Dear Colleagues
We are currently recruiting for a Technology Research Manager to join
Action on Hearing Loss in London to develop and lead a range of new
activities to support the innovation of new assistive technology. I would
be very grateful if you could help by passing this email on to anyone you
think might be interested in this exciting opportunity. Below is a
description of the role with links to further information about the
job.
Thank you very much for your help.
Best wishes

Technology Research Manager
Action on Hearing Loss, London
Technology plays a vital role in allowing people confronting
deafness, tinnitus and hearing loss to take control of their lives, so
they can live the life they choose. We are forging strong links with
manufactures of assistive technology to bring new products to market
through our commercial activities, and are also influencing policy to
ensure new technology is accessible and inclusive.
Based within the Biomedical Research group, you will work closely with
colleagues in our Commercial Services, and Policy and Campaigns
Directorates to develop and lead a range of new activities to support and
catalyse innovation of new assistive technology. For example, this may
include technologies to better amplify speech in difficult listening
conditions, to improve speech to text communication, and to exploit
advances being made in gesture recognition, smartphone and app
technologies. You would draw on the success the Biomedical Research
group are having in supporting the development of medical
treatments.
With specialist knowledge of an area of technology relevant to deafness,
hearing loss or tinnitus, you will need a sound understanding of the
technology sector and excellent communication skills. But, above all you
must be able to demonstrate the drive and ability to make things
happen.

Action on Hearing Loss is the new name for RNID. Our name has
changed, but our vision hasn't - a world where hearing loss doesn't limit
or label people, where tinnitus is silenced and where people value their
hearing enough to look after it.
