Post-doc position: hearing aids
Dear Colleagues
Applications are invited for a 3-year post-doc position in the
laboratory of Brian Moore in Cambridge. Please note that this is a
different (additional) position from the one that was advertised a
few weeks ago. The link below gives full details. A brief description
follows the link.
http://www.jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/7063/
A Research Associate is being sought to work in the laboratory of
Professor Brian C.J. Moore in Cambridge on a project aiming to
determine the optimum number of channels in multi-channel compression
hearing aids. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in psychoacoustics,
audiology, hearing science, or a closely related discipline.
Experience in running psychoacoustic and speech perception tests is
highly desirable. Familiarity with hearing aids and the fitting of
hearing aids is also highly desirable. Applicants should interact
well with experimental participants, and should be sympathetic to the
needs of older hearing-impaired participants. Applicants should be
able to organise data and perform statistical analyses. Some
programming skills are desirable, preferably including familiarity
with Matlab. The work will involve recruiting experimental
participants, setting up auditory experiments, running experiments
using hearing-impaired participants, analysing data, preparing
figures for publication, and collaboration in writing papers for publication.
The starting date for the position is 1st September, 2015, although a
slightly later date might be negotiated. The work will be conducted
in central Cambridge, in the Downing Site.
Best wishes,
Brian Moore
