Postdoctoral position in Auditory Neurophysiology - Purdue University

Postdoctoral position (Auditory Neurophysiology and Modeling)

Purdue University
Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences;
Department of Biomedical Engineering

NIH- and Action-on-Hearing-Loss-(UK) funded positions (2-3 years) are available in the Auditory Neurophysiology and Modeling Laboratory at Purdue University (https://engineering.purdue.edu/auditory).

Our laboratory uses a coordinated approach involving neurophysiology, animal behavior, computational modeling, and psychoacoustics to relate physiological and perceptual effects of sensorineural hearing loss. Experience in mammalian single-unit neurophysiology is desirable, but strong candidates with experience in computational modeling and psychoacoustics will also be considered. This position will provide extensive opportunities for local collaboration through the interdisciplinary Purdue Hearing and Acoustics in Science and Engineering (PHASE) program, which includes hearing scientists from the departments of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Biological Sciences. In addition, the laboratory has links with colleagues in Europe, including recent project funding from Action on Hearing Loss (UK).

For informal inquiries about the position, or for information about the formal application procedures, contact Michael Heinz, PhD (mheinz@xxxxxxxxxx; 765-496-6627).
