The Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences in the Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee is seeking an experienced candidate for a faculty position with emphasis in the area of psychoacoustics. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in hearing science, psychology, or related disciplines (e.g., audiology, neuroscience).
Responsibilities with this open rank position focus on maintaining an active research program in one or more areas of psychoacoustics and working with graduate (primarily PhD) students. The successful candidate should have an established record of extramurally-funded basic/applied research and peer-reviewed publications, accompanied by a record of experience in teaching and supervising graduate student research. Numerous opportunities for collaboration are available within Vanderbilt University as well as within the university's highly-ranked Department of Otolaryngology, the Vanderbilt Brain Institute, Neuroscience Program, Vanderbilt University Institute for Imaging Sciences, and the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center.
Vanderbilt's Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences is CAA accredited, with the Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology programs highly ranked by the US News & World Report. The Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology programs are located within the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, one of the largest healthcare providers in the Mid-South.
