interval perception
Dear list,
students of mine plan to do a course project on the precission of interval
timing perception.
The problem shall be addressed in two lines
- interval bisection - how precise has a signal to be in the middle of an
interval to perceive the two resulting intervals as being equal. Does this
depent on the duration of the original interval, does it depent on signal
properties (tone pulse vs click, pulse frequency)
- if three signals are given in a series, how precisely has the timing of the
third stimulus match the interval between the first two signals in order to
perceive the two resulting intervals as equal
Could anybody please offer some hints to studies on these topics so we can
start an in depth literature search.
Thanks very much
Jo Ostwald
