The Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at OHSU is seeking candidates for the
Director of the OHSU Cochlear Implant Program. This is a full time Faculty position. Rank will be
commensurate with experience.

OHSU has been providing cochlear implant services since 1983. We have undergone significant growth
in the last decade and are now recognized as the largest implant program in the Northwest. The program
has implanted over 1,000 patients, and now routinely implants over 100 patients each year. The clinical
program is currently staffed by two surgeons and three clinical audiologists. The research program has a
Ph.D. director and a research audiologist. Opportunity also exists for collaboration with the Oregon
Hearing Research Center at OHSU, and the VA’s National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research.
The successful applicant will have extensive experience in the field of Audiology with a focus on
pediatric cochlear implants, and will be active in the area of cochlear implant research as documented by
scholarly publications. The clinical program is actively involved in clinical trials and part of the director’s
responsibilities will be to oversee these trials.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated, excellent qualifications in
Education, Research, and Clinical Care. Candidates must be licensed or be eligible for license as an
Audiologist in the State of Oregon, and possess a Certificate of Clinical Competency.
Responsibilities include overseeing the continued growth of the established CI program, working with
audiologists to provide clinical care to both pediatric and adult patients receiving cochlear implants, and
performing independent and collaborative clinically based research on adult and pediatric patients in
conjunction with our research team.
