Announcing a post-doctoral position in music cognition

POST-DOCTORAL POSITION IN MUSIC COGNITION AT THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY, MCGILL UNIVERSITY in Montreal, QC. The post-doctoral scholar will work in the laboratory of Dr. Daniel Levitin studying melody recognition under transformations in pitch, rhythm, meter, tempo and timbre. A Ph.D. in cognitive psychology or a closely related discipline is required, and background in one or more of the following areas is preferred: music cognition, categorization, psychophysics, auditory perception, concept formation, or memory. Starting date is flexible between March 1, 2010 and September 1, 2010 and is for one year, renewable.
