There was a test produced, I believe in the late '60s) called the Environmental
Sound Test or something pretty similar.  I don't recall who did the test but a
search on Google or Medlar may produce you some results.  I seem to recall some
research data with that test.  I also worked on such a test five or six years
ago but don't believe that I still have any of my data.  I was unable to find
much directly related out there.
