5 Faculty Positions at the Brain Research Centre, UBC
5 FACULTY POSITIONS AT THE BRAIN RESEARCH CENTRE
University of British Columbia and
Vancouver Coastal Health Authority
The Brain Research Centre of UBC and the Vancouver Coastal Health
Authority is embarking on a major expansion of its programs, based on
recent successes in attracting substantial infrastructure funding.
We have available 5 full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty positions,
at both senior and junior levels, across a broad spectrum of areas in
Neuroscience. Three of these positions will be Canada Research Chairs in
association with the University’s “Neuroscience Cluster” in the Faculty
of Medicine. These prestigious positions are funded through a federal
government program, with access to research support appropriate to the

The other two positions will be supported through our endowment
fundraising initiatives.
Applications are invited in the areas of Stroke, Mood Disorders,
Neuroprotection, Neurodegenerative Disorders, Postnatal
Brain Development, Neuronal Plasticity, Synaptic
Mechanisms, and Cell Signaling. The Centre specifically
encourages individuals using brain imaging and/or
genomic/proteomic strategies to apply.

The expected start date for these appointments is July
1st, 2003 or July 1, 2004. Salary
will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
