Seems like this would be very difficult without a very careful calibration
routine (and more), since the amplitude levels on any given PC involved so
many variables, e.g., type & quality of sound card, headphones used (if
any), and sound level set in the "Control Panel."

I will be interested to see what responses you get to this inquiry.
