The Position
--------------
A full-time research assistant (HEW Level 5 or 6) with at least a good
honours degree in signal processing, computer science, speech science,
electrical engineering or related area is required to prepare speech
stimuli, analyse and synthesise speech, analyse large data sets, run neural
net and modelling applications, monitor a beta version of a new auditory
perception toolbox, and write computer programs (especially in MATLAB and C
environments). Knowledge of or interest in any of the following would be an
advantage - human information processing, music production, music
sampling/sequencing, linguistics/phonetics, statistical analysis, tone

Currently at MARCS we hold 2 large Australian Research Council grants -
'From speech perception to language acquisition'; 'Speech perception by
eye and ear'; 1 SPIRT grant - 'The song and dance of mother and infant in

and another on 'Human Factors in Aviation' and various UWS internal grants.
