Title: Child's scream

Jim and Rebecca have a point, but I don't think it explains the higher incidence of infanticide for baby girls. Is there a gender difference in the pitch ranges of children's voices at that age? Anyway, in my informal experience, baby boys are more likely to scream constantly than baby girls - has this been documented anywhere?
