POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN AUDITORY PERCEPTION

The Parmly Hearing Institute of Loyola University of Chicago has an
opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the area of auditory
perception/psychophysics. The auditory perception faculty at Parmly
includes, Dr. William Yost, Dr. Raymond Dye, Dr. Stan Sheft, Dr. Andrew
Lotto, and Dr. J.D. Trout. Their work covers pitch perception, sound
localization, echo processing, temporal modulation processing, and
speech perception. Both empirical and modeling research projects are
currently being pursued. The Institute is looking for a researcher who
can complement the current auditory perception research being undertaken
at the Parmly Hearing Institute. The Postdoctoral Fellow is a one-year
position renewable for up to three years. The Fellow will hold the
status of Research Associate at Loyola University Chicago. The salary

SENSORY SYSTEMS GRADUATE EDUCATION

Loyola University Chicago has strong programs in the sensory sciences,
especially hearing (including speech perception), vision, vestibular
function, mechanosensory lateral-line and electro-receptive systems.
Graduate degrees are available in Psychology (Ph.D.), Biology (M.S.),
and Neuroscience (M.S., Ph.D., and M.D./Ph.D.), and each provides an
emphasis in sensory processing.  The Parmly Hearing Institute is the
focus for the study of sensory systems at Loyola and the Institute
supports graduate student stipends, tuition, and research for students
who study sensory systems in these degree-granting programs. Loyola has
more than twenty outstanding sensory researchers working in
state-of-the-art laboratories. The Parmly Hearing Institute provides a
cohesive program for interaction and cooperation among these faculty and
students.  Students can take advantage of a challenging and exciting
program of graduate and postdoctoral training in the sensory sciences
that has been integrated and coordinated among the psychology, biology &
neuroscience disciplines.
