Alexander Galembo
SEEKING PROFESSIONAL JOB

Dear List:

I am a Russian physicist with extensive experience in acoustics,
particularly the acoustics of musical instruments and psychoacoustics, with
a focus on musical tone quality (timbre) problems. The field of my interests
includes also an interaction/segregation of tones in music and music
perception across pitch range and timbres, and other topics (see below).

Before "perestroika", my position was the head of the largest musical
acoustics R&D lab in the Soviet Union. This lab was the research wing of
the Musical Instruments Industrial Corporation of Leningrad (St. Petersburg).

In the years following the collapse of industry and science in the Soviet
State I have worked as a Guest Researcher with Dr. A. Askenfelt (Department
of Speech, Music and Hearing at the Royal Institute of Technology,
Stockholm, Sweden, 1993, 1995)) and as a Postdoctoral NATO Science Fellow
with Prof. Lola L. Cuddy (Acoustics Lab, Dept. of Psychology, Queen's
University at Kingston, Canada, 1996-1998).

As my present tenure at Queen's University expires in July 1998 and cannot
be renewed, I am seeking employment opportunities beyond this date. I am
open to working in areas outside or within my area of expertise, where my
experience might be of use.

I would appreciate suggestions and/or forwarding my posting to any party
that may have an interest.

My CV and concise list of publications are given below.
