Subject: [AUDITORY] Industrial PhD Researcher in audio signal processing and machine learning for hearing technology From: Simon Doclo <simon.doclo@xxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 4 Feb 2026 22:23:40 +0100Dear colleagues, I'm excited to announce an opening for a fully funded, four-year Industrial PhD Researcher position focusing on audio signal processing and machine learning for hearing technology. The successful candidate will join Oticon A/S (Denmark), while collaborating closely with the Signal Processing Group at the University of Oldenburg (Germany). The PhD project aims to enhance hearing aid performance by developing advanced algorithms that integrate model-based and learning-based approaches for estimating acoustic transfer functions around and inside the ear. These transfer functions describe how sound propagates between hearing aid microphones, speakers, and the ear canal. Accurate and individualized modeling is crucial for enabling key features in hearing aids, ultimately improving sound quality and user comfort.
