Description of position: The Lee Laboratory in the Department of Otolaryngology and the Eaton-Peabod= y Laboratories at Mass Eye and Ear/Harvard Medical School is seeking a post= doctoral fellow for a 3-year NSF-funded project developing next-generation = soft auditory brainstem implant technologies. This work builds on a decade-long collaboration with Prof. St=E9phanie Laco= ur=92s group at =C9cole Polytechnique F=E9d=E9rale de Lausanne and will com= bine a chronic mouse ABI model with behavioral testing and in vivo electrop= hysiology. The fellow will evaluate how soft ABI technologies may improve a= uditory performance and neural encoding in the cochlear nucleus and ascendi= ng auditory pathway, generating key preclinical data to guide future non-hu= man primate studies and eventual first-in-human trials. Ideal candidates will have a PhD in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, e= lectrical engineering, or a related field, with strong experience in in viv= o rodent electrophysiology. Experience with chronic mouse models, behaviora= l training, auditory neuroscience, cochlear implants, auditory brainstem im= plants, brain-computer interfaces, or neural prosthetic devices is highly d= esirable. Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python, signal processing, and quant= itative data analysis is strongly preferred. The position offers the opportunity to work in a highly translational audit= ory neuroscience and neuroengineering environment at Mass Eye and Ear and H= arvard Medical School, with regular collaboration with EPFL and other inter= national partners.
