Dear all, we are pleased to announce the next TASCAR-Workshop, see below. Best regards, Giso Grimm Workshop on interactive acoustic communication in dynamic virtual=20 reality, using TASCAR and OVBOX. Dates: 23rd=E2=80=9324th September 2025. Location: Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, Germany, NeSSy=20 Building W30 Details: A workshop on using TASCAR and OVBOX to generate dynamic acoustic=20 virtual reality for communication experiments will be offered at the=20 Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg on 23rd and 24th September=20 2025. The workshop will cover key TASCAR and OVBOX concepts, including=20 interactive binaural rendering, data logging, Matlab integration, game=20 engine connection, calibration, openMHA integration and room acoustics.=20 Participants will gain hands-on experience working in small groups. TASCAR (Toolbox for Acoustic Scene Creation and Rendering) is a tool for=20 creating interactive, dynamic acoustic scenes. Focusing on the=20 physically motivated, low-delay simulation of acoustics, TASCAR serves=20 as a laboratory tool for reproducible science. Early reflections can be=20 simulated using a geometric image source model, while diffuse late=20 reverberation can be added via a feedback delay network (FDN) or=20 convolution reverberation. TASCAR is completely open source and=20 available for Linux, macOS, and Windows. The OVBOX is a low-delay=20 network communication tool with applications in music and communication=20 research. It is based on TASCAR. Preliminary agenda: 23.9.2025 09:00 Welcome and introduction 10:00 Hands-on session on the basics of TASCAR/OVBOX 11:00 Hands-on session: Tutorials 1 13:15 =E2=80=93 Lunch and coffee break 14:15 Hands-on session: Tutorials 2 16:30 =E2=80=93 End of first day 24.9.2025 09:00 Poster session and showcase 12:00 =E2=80=93 Lunch and coffee break 13:00 Open discussion 14:00 =E2=80=93 End of workshop Participation is free of charge, but catering is not provided. There are=20 several canteens and cafeterias available on campus. As the number of=20 participants is limited to approx. 20, registration via this online form=20 is required: https://cloud.uol.de/apps/forms/s/RnRGJ6nX24ZJBmsW8LpJnmq5 You can also choose to participate in some sessions only; please=20 indicate this when you register.
