Hello,
My name is Natasha Winge, and I am a PhD researcher at the University of Surrey. My research looks at links between psychoacoustic measures of hearing and
auditory physiology, with a particular focus on aural diversity.
I am currently recruiting participants for a listening study that I will be running at the University of Manchester during the week of 7th-11th September.
As the Auditory Science Meeting and ManCAD CAPers are also taking place at the university that week, I thought this might be particularly convenient for anyone who will already be in Manchester and would be interested in taking part.
Participation involves two sessions on the same day, each lasting approximately 45–60 minutes, with a break of at least one hour between the two sessions.
The study involves questionnaires, a hearing test, a passive ear recording using otoacoustic emissions, and some simple listening tasks. All procedures are safe and non-invasive.
I am primarily running sessions on Monday 7th, Thursday 10th and Friday 11th September. I can also arrange sessions on Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th by request.
People can take part in this round if they:

are aged 30–59
-
have no formal music training
-
have no known hearing impairment
-
have no current ear infection
-
have not been exposed to loud sounds in the 24 hours before the session
The study will take place in the Ellen Wilkinson Building, University of Manchester, M15 6JA.
