[AUDITORY] Job opportunity at Adobe Research: Research Engineer - Data Lead & Model Training

Hi everyone,

I'm hiring for my team: Research Engineer - Data Lead & Model Training!

My team, the Sound Design AI (SODA) group at Adobe Research, builds and ships foundational models directly into flagship products like Premiere Pro and Adobe Firefly.

We are looking for someone to bridge the gap between large-scale data architecture and generative AI model training, directly impacting models like Firefly Generate Sound Effects.

You’ll own the data ecosystem end-to-end, from building data pipelines to running training experiments, fine-tuning models, and evaluating model behavior on massive datasets. We are hiring at either the Research Engineer or Sr. Research Engineer level depending on your background.

What you’ll do:
⚡ Build scalable data pipelines: Own ingestion, filtering, and model-assisted labeling pipelines for massive audio and video datasets.
⚡ Train & fine-tune models: Run training experiments, ablations, and model evaluations on pipeline outputs to directly improve generative performance.
⚡ Drive data quality, strategy, and sourcing: Oversee data acquisition, licensing and curation, content strategy and data quality.

What we're looking for:
Generative AI research experience to design and run training experiments
PhD or [MSc + industry experience] in audio + machine learning.
Pipeline-building experience at scale for audio and/or video data.
Deep audio domain knowledge: datasets, quality metrics, critical listening.
Strong command of evaluation in audio and video modeling.
Data acquisition and licensing experience is a plus.
 Excellent communication skills.

Location: San Francisco.
