[AUDITORY] Postdoctoral position in Lalor Lab for Computational Cognitive Neurophysiology at the University of Rochester

Dear colleagues,

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position in the Lalor Lab for Computational Cognitive Neurophysiology at the University of Rochester.

We anticipate hiring a postdoctoral research fellow to work on EEG/intracranial EEG projects investigating how the human brain encodes complex and natural stimuli (especially speech), and how that encoding is affected by attention, prediction, and multisensory input. Much of the work will focus on modelling brain responses to such stimuli in healthy, neurotypical adults – including modelling how the human brain processes linguistic meaning. However, there will also be opportunities to carry out research involving patients with schizophrenia and adolescents/young adults with a diagnosis of autism.

The research fellow(s) will work as part of a multidisciplinary team including PIs, postdoctoral researchers and PhD/MSc students in both Engineering and Neuroscience through the Hajim School of Engineering, the Department of Neuroscience, and the Del Monte Institute for Neuroscience at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Candidates should have a PhD in either: a) Psychology, Neuroscience or a related discipline with experience in the use of computational methods to analyze neural signals (or at least a strong motivation to learn), or b) Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline with a keen interest in neuroscience.

For informal inquiries, please contact Dr. Edmund Lalor at elalor@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. To apply for either a postdoctoral or research technician position, please submit a CV, short cover letter and contact information for two referees to Dr Edmund Lalor at elalor@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Best,
Ed
