[AUDITORY] Postdoctoral Fellowship opportunity in Boston, MA at Mass Eye and Ear

Dear colleagues, we are looking for a new postdoc in Boston at MEEI to study animal models of the auditory brainstem implant.

Description of position:

The Lee Laboratory in the Department of Otolaryngology and the Eaton-Peabody Laboratories at Mass Eye and Ear/Harvard Medical School is seeking a postdoctoral fellow for a 3-year NSF-funded project developing next-generation soft auditory brainstem implant technologies.

This work builds on a decade-long collaboration with Prof. Stéphanie Lacour’s group at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne and will combine a chronic mouse ABI model with behavioral testing and in vivo electrophysiology. The fellow will evaluate how soft ABI technologies may improve auditory performance and neural encoding in the cochlear nucleus and ascending auditory pathway, generating key preclinical data to guide future non-human primate studies and eventual first-in-human trials.

Ideal candidates will have a PhD in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, with strong experience in in vivo rodent electrophysiology. Experience with chronic mouse models, behavioral training, auditory neuroscience, cochlear implants, auditory brainstem implants, brain-computer interfaces, or neural prosthetic devices is highly desirable. Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python, signal processing, and quantitative data analysis is strongly preferred.

The position offers the opportunity to work in a highly translational auditory neuroscience and neuroengineering environment at Mass Eye and Ear and Harvard Medical School, with regular collaboration with EPFL and other international partners.
