The Signal Processing Division and the Cluster of Excellence
Hearing4all.connects at the University of Oldenburg in Germany are
seeking to fill the position of a
Research Associate (Postdoc)
“Speech and audio foundation models for hearing aid
processing”
The position is available as soon as possible for initially 3
years, with salary according to TV-L E13 (100%), corresponding to
at least 4.750 € per month before taxes (exact amount depending on
experience and qualifications).
The successful candidate is expected to conduct research on the
use of speech and audio foundation models for real-time sound
processing algorithms suitable for hearing aids (e.g., acoustic
scene analysis, noise reduction, speaker separation), including
algorithm design, implementation, and experimental validation.
This may involve distributed deep-learning-based algorithms for
hearing aids, e.g., by offloading computationally intensive tasks
to a more powerful external device such as a smartphone.
Candidates are required to have an academic
university degree (Master or equivalent) in electrical
engineering, computer science, or applied physics, an excellent
publication record and doctoral thesis. Candidates are also
required to have extensive
knowledge and experience in speech/audio signal processing and
machine learning. More information about this position is
available on
https://uol.de/en/job/research-associate-speech-and-audio-foundation-models-for-hearing-aid-processing-1011
To apply for this position, please send your application (ref.
SP262) including a letter of motivation with a statement of skills
and research interests (max. 1 page), curriculum vitae, list of
publications, copies of university diplomas and transcripts, and contact details of two referees to
simon.doclo@xxxxxx . The
application deadline is 15.05.2026.
