[AUDITORY] MUSICONNEX Conference Call for Papers



We are excited to announce the MUSICONNEX Conference! 

The conference will be hosted in a hybrid format at the Centre of Excellence in Music, Mind, Body, and Brain, at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, on September 22-24th, in 2026. The keynote speakers of the conference are Prof. Katrina McFerran, Prof. Elizabeth Margulis, and Prof. Hauke Egermann. 

MUSICONNEX conference addresses the following questions:


The MUSICONNEX Conference welcomes original abstracts for onsite and online oral presentations or poster sessions. Abstract submissions open 2 February, 2026 and the deadline is 31 March, 2026 (23:59 Eastern European Time). All abstracts should be written in English with a maximum of 250 words. Detailed guidelines will be provided soon on the conference website.

We welcome submissions relating to: identity, emotion, self-regulation, self-connection, movement, social bonding, relationships, agency, empowerment, wellbeing, and mental health. The fields of research will include: music psychology, music cognition, emotion research, movement research, developmental psychology, music education, music therapy, and youth research.

Each submission will be reviewed by the scientific advisory board and notification of results will follow in June. All accepted submissions must have at least one author registered in full to attend and present the paper at the conference.

Abstract submission opens: 2 February, 2026
Abstract submission deadline: 31 March, 2026 
Abstract acceptance notification: End of May, 2026
Registration opens: 1 June, 2026
Early-bird registration deadline: 30 July, 2026
Regular registration deadline: 31 August, 2026
