[AUDITORY] Survey on Musical Instrument Practices, Preferences and Challenges of Adults with ADHD

Dear all,

I would like to invite you to take part in a research survey examining how adults with ADHD experience playing musical instruments. This study is being conducted as part of my PhD research in the Department of Music at Durham University, under the supervision of Prof. Nick Collins and Prof. Tuomas Eerola.

The aim of this survey is to explore the musical instrument practices, preferences, and challenges of individuals with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The insights gathered will contribute to the development of an accessible digital musical instrument designed specifically with the needs of adults with ADHD in mind.

The questionnaire consists of 30 questions, is available in English, and takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. Participation is open to adults (18+) with a formal or self-identified ADHD diagnosis, regardless of musical background—from beginners to professional musicians.

If you are an adult with ADHD, or know someone who may be interested, I kindly invite you to participate in this short online survey. Your contribution is invaluable and will help support the creation of more inclusive and engaging musical experiences.
