We are pleased to announce the launch of the 1st DAFx Parameter Estimation Challenge!
The competition focuses on two tasks:
Task A: estimation of physical parameters of a plate reverb model from its impulse response Task B: estimation of modal parameters (frequency, decay, amplitude) from its impulse response
Participation is open to individuals, academic groups and industry teams; each team may submit up to two distinct proposals per task.
We encourage the submission of any sort of estimation algorithm!
Timeline highlights: the challenge is now open for researchers to start experimenting. The target dataset will be released on
6 April 2026, and submissions are due by 31 May 2026; results will be announced at DAFx26 (1-4 September 2026).

GitHub repo for detailed instructions on installation, dataset generation, submission format and evaluation metrics.
