Dear colleagues, I would like to draw your attention to this call for three PhD positions within the doctoral partnership agreement between the Interdisciplinary Transformative University (IT:U) in Linz and the Acoustics Research Institute (ARI) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna to work on a PhD project. Specifications:
Project ideas related to hearing research include:
Other project ideas fitting within the 3AI scope can also be accepted. The group Acoustics, Analysis and AI (3AI) of IT:U Fellow Professor Peter Balazs works on and teaches topics connecting acoustics, mathematics, and machine learning. The group maintains a close cooperation with the ARI, where Balazs is the director. Students within 3AI will gain extensive hands-on experience in building devices and handling given scientific measurement setups. In the ANGUS IT:U Learn Lab in Linz, they can design and build measurement setups and acoustic devices from scratch — developing practical skills in experimentation, signal acquisition, and prototyping. More advanced and scientifically focused subprojects will then be pursued at the ARI in Vienna, providing access to state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure for high-precision acoustic research and interdisciplinary collaboration.
