at Binghamton University invites motivated candidates to apply for an
NSF-funded PhD position in Cognitive and Brain Sciences starting in

Our lab studies how humans perceive and learn speech
sounds, aiming to understand the brain and cognitive mechanisms that
support speech communication and learning. We use a broad range of
empirical methods, including behavioral experiments, multimodal
neuroimaging (EEG/fMRI), pupillometry, and noninvasive brain stimulation
(tDCS/tACS). This position is part of a recently funded NSF project
examining speech and sound category learning, with a particular focus on
the functional roles of temporal rhythm processes and striatum-mediated
learning systems.
