Subject: Auditory PhD Opportunities in Paris

Dear All,

I want to bring to your attention an opportunity for those interested in auditory processing to submit a PhD Program application at Institut Pasteur with dedicated space for Hearing-based projects. This doctoral program is organized for students holding a Master degree or the equivalent in science, medicine and related fields delivered by a university outside of France.

In the program, I am linked to two projects titled below. If this fits your description and interests (or a student/colleague/friend of some one you know who may be interested), you may submit an application at https://www.pasteur.fr/ppu and select one (or both) of the two projects. There are also three other projects at the Hearing Institute which may well be of interest to others in this list as well.

Applications are due by October 20th. Feel free to shoot me a note (at keith.doelling@xxxxxxxxxx) if you are interested!

Team Description:

The Human and Artificial Perception (HArP) Lab is a new G5 Group at Institut Pasteur just opened and led by me to use and develop computational models to probe electrophysiological signals with the goal of improving our understanding of perception of highly naturalistic signals like speech and music.

Relevant Projects:

#4 PhD Project Title: Dynamics of prediction of time and content in the speech hierarchy

PhD Supervisor: Keith Doelling

Laboratory Team name: Human and Artificial Perception

#5 PhD Project Title: Restore SpeecH Audibility using Phoneme Enhancement for Hearing Implants

PhD Supervisor: Dorothée Arzounian
