Save the Date: Conference on Cognition, Aging, and Speech Communication (CASC), St. Louis, MO, May 6-9, 2026

Dear Auditory List,

 

We are delighted to announce that the conference on “Aging and Speech Communication” and the conference on “Cognitive Hearing Science for Communication” have been combined into a single conference called the Conference on Cognition, Aging, and Speech Communication (CASC). The conference will be held at Washington University in St. Louis, MO, May 6-9, 2026. The primary goal of this conference grant is to continue a series of exceptional international and interdisciplinary research conferences that address speech-communication challenges in older adults.

 

The conference is organized around eight themes:

·         Age-related changes in auditory perception and physiology

·         Animal studies of aging and hearing

·         Aging and speech: production, perception, and understanding

·         Cognition and aging

·         Aging and multisensory perception and processing

·         Access to hearing health care

·         Hearing loss and hearing assistive devices (HA & CI)

·         Technological advances (Pharmaceuticals, AI, and more)

 

The conference will be held at the Eric P. Newman Education Center which is located on the Medical Campus of Washington University in St. Louis.

 

Details concerning the program, costs, registration, and abstract submission will be coming soon, as well as the conference website. Abstract submission will open November 15, 2025 and close February 1, 2026. Decisions will be made by March 1, 2026.
