Re: [AUDITORY] [EXT] DPM1 DPOAE microphone

Hi Ian,

I'll share what we found, comparing the frequency response of the DPM1 and ER10B+ in the free field. Measurements were made in a large double walled booth lined with acoustic foam, and are expressed in dB relative to the output of a B&K 1/4" calibration microphone. All mics were placed at the same location relative to the speaker.

The blue curve is the output of our old ER10B+. It rolls off above 12 kHz and looks very similar to the frequency response provided by Etymotic with the microphone (see attached file ER10B_Etymotic).

The red curve is the output of the DPM1. I'll just say that it was not what we expected and we have not been using the microphone for emissions measurements. I was in contact with TDT several months ago about the issue but I have not heard back about their test results after an initial consultation.

Good luck! Ken

Hello list,

I currently use Etymotic Research ER-10B+ and ER-10C probes for measuring otoacoustic emissions in humans. However, these probes are no longer sold or serviced.

I’m interested in the Tucker-Davis Technologies DPM1 DPOAE microphone because it’s battery powered and has a BNC connection. I would be interested in hearing about anyone’s experience with this probe.

Best,
Ian
