Dear Auditory List,

One more reminder! The deadline to submit an abstract and to register for the Auditory Science Meeting (ASM) 2025 is today.

ASM2025 (meeting website) will take place on Thursday 4th - Friday 5^th September 2025 at Nottingham Trent University and will be organised by the NTU Hearing Research group and University of Nottingham Hearing Sciences. Registration will include lunch, refreshments, and a conference dinner at Brown’s Restaurant. You will have to organise your own accommodation, but this is plentiful as the meeting is to be held in the heart of the city of Nottingham. Note: This meeting has previously gone by several names: ‘Auditory Science Meeting’, ‘Basic Auditory Science (BAS)’, ‘Ear & Hear’, and more.

We are pleased to announce that this year’s Ted Evans Talk (in honour of he who established the original meeting in the 1970s) will be Prof. Tim Griffiths (Newcastle University).

Research topics will include but are not limited to the following:

Hearing loss and hearing-assistive technologies
Physiology of hearing
Auditory cortex
Psychophysics
Spatial hearing and immersive audio
Computational audiology
Rehabilitation and training for improving hearing
Cognitive aspects of hearing
Development of hearing
Age-related hearing decline
Electrophysiology, neuroimaging and objective measures (M/EEG, fNIRS, fMRI, eCAPs etc.)
Speech perception
Language processing

You can submit your abstract via this Microsoft Form: ASM2025 ABSTRACT SUBMISSION (link also appears on website).

You can indicate on the form whether you are interested in giving talk or prefer a poster. Talks will be selected from the list of those who offer to give one, and the remainder will be presented as posters.

Registration is open now to everyone: Auditory Science Meeting 2025 Registration. | Nottingham Trent University. Registration is £100 for non-students and £50 for students. If you have submitted an abstract, please make sure you have also registered.
