Dear Auditory List, One of my recent students has been exploring the relationships between musical engagement and well-being, with particular focus on how time spent practicing, performing, and working
with ensembles versus solo activity may influence outcomes. We’ve successfully recruited a large group of adolescent and young adult musicians for this project, and we are now seeking to include more
adult musicians over the age of 30. The study involves a brief online survey (approx. 15 min). that includes questions about musical experiences, time devoted to practice and performance, and several standardized measures related to personality and well-being. If you are an active musician over 30, we would be grateful for your participation!
Additionally, if you know other adult musicians who might be willing to contribute, we would greatly appreciate it if you could share this invitation with them as well. You can access the survey here: Please feel free to contact me,
Dr. Michael Gordon (William Paterson University), with any questions about the study. Once the survey closes in early July, we’d be happy to share a summary of the initial findings
with those interested. Thank you in advance for your time and support! Warmly, MG -- Dr. Michael Gordon Audiovisual Perception Laboratory Professor of Psychology College of Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences William Paterson University Wayne, NJ 07470 |
