JJ Johnston and Karlheinz Brandenburg generated this musical example to =
show the power of masking for audio compression. They called it the 13dB =
miracle because the same signal to noise ratio (13dB) sounds vey =
different depending on where the noise lies in the spectral-temporal =
plain.
