Our results show that for street-crossing decisions in interaction with acc= elerating EVs, pedestrians make riskier decisions than for accelerating con= ventional vehicles, even with activated AVAS. This in an ongoing project an= d we will conduct experiments targeted at identifying AVAS designs that are= more informative for pedestrians in this scenario. One relevant aspect for your project could be that AVAS is not only importa= nt for detecting the vehicle auditorily, but that in addition it is relevan= t to think about information about the vehicle's motion (particularly accel= eration) conveyed by the vehicle sound.
