This Transl= ational faculty position represents a joint hire between the Departments of= Otolaryngology =96 Head & Neck Surgery (https://medschool.cuanschutz.edu/o= tolaryngology) and Physiology & Biophysics (https://medschool.cuanschutz.ed= u/physiology) as we seek to expand the Hearing and Balance research cluster= at the UC-AMC. This highly collaborative group includes several NIH-funded= investigators with broad interests in peripheral and central mechanisms as= sociated with auditory and vestibular function from animal models to humans= and includes Drs. Agrawal, Greene, Klug, Manchaiah, Peng, Rennie, Santos-C= ortez, Tollin, Uhler, and others. This unique group of investigators is focused on addressing key research qu= estions in hearing and balance spanning across basic, translational and cli= nically focused research. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D., MD or MD/P= hD and will lead an active extramurally funded research program focused on = central/cortical mechanisms of auditory and/or vestibular function using cu= tting edge techniques such as in vivo Ca2+ imaging, electrophysiology, bioe= ngineering, brain computer/machine interfaces, and/or computational approac= hes. Successful applicants are expected to lead a vigorous, externally funded re= search program, participate in professional, medical and/or graduate progra= m teaching, and complete serve duties for the department, school and/or cam= pus.
