This researcher will co-supervise a few PhD students on this project and on speech processing research in general. The project will focus on algorithm design but will also coordinate with collaborators on transferring such algorithms into executable software. Research results will be published at top journals and conferences in the speech processing area. At the AIR lab, we focus on computer audition research, where music information retrieval, speech processing and general sound modeling are the three pillars. We also study the connections between computer audition and computer vision, natural language processing, computational neuroscience, and healthcare applications. The postdoctoral researcher will have the opportunity to collaborate on projects beyond speech processing. The University of Rochester is a private, Tier I research university in Rochester, New York. The ECE department is home to more than 85 full-time PhD students, 70 MS students, and BS programs in=E2=80=AFECE and in AME. An annual increase of 3% is expected. This position is expected to start ASAP and we will review applications on a rolling basis. We prefer candidates who can work for at least two years, but due to our university=E2=80=99s regulation, the first = term will be one year and it will be renewable after that. Candidates should have a PhD in electrical and computer engineering, computer science, or related fields. They should have good experience and a strong publication record in speech processing, and ideally, speech synthesis and voice conversion.
