They will be c= o-supervised by=20 Anna Fiveash and Barbara Tillmann, with additional supervision and=20 collaborations across both sites. The PhD position is jointly funded by=20 the The MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development and the=20 Burgundy-Franche-Comt=C3=A9 Regional Council, and integrates under a=20 memorandum of understanding between the two Universities. The PhD will be part of an ongoing, international research project=20 focusing on the strengths and limits of the rhythmic priming effect,=20 whereby regular rhythms have been shown to boost language processing=20 compared to irregular rhythms or other control conditions. The project=20 involves investigating the multiple facets of rhythmic priming and its=20 neural correlates, including (for example) the role of attention, the=20 duration of the effect, benefits of sensorimotor coupling, individual=20 differences (i.e., reading age, chronological age, musical=20 training/abilities etc), and cross-language effects. The PhD will=20 investigate benefits to different types of language perception and=20 production tasks (including phonological processing, grammatical=20 processing, reading, and sentence reproduction). The PhD candidate will=20 be working with children and adults across Dijon and Sydney, mainly with=20 typical development but with possible extensions to neurodevelopmental=20 disorders. *Required*: background in experimental/developmental psychology,=20 cognitive neurosciences or neuropsychology; motivation for teamwork;=20 statistical and programming skills; English fluency. *Preferable*: knowledge in the field of neurosciences of music,=20 speech/language and/or auditory perception, research experience in=20 developmental science, prior experience with EEG or eye-tracking, French=20 fluency, musical training.
