This is a reminder about the upcoming ASA Fall meeting deadline and trainee competition. Please forward to any interested parties and encourage them to submit an abstract. Please direct any questions to me (gregory.m.ellis10.ctr@xxxxxxxx) or Dr. Varsha Rallapalli (vrallapalli@xxxxxxxx). Best, *Gregory M Ellis, Ph.D.* Research Audiologist *Walter Reed National Military Medical Center* *4494 Palmer Rd N* *Bethesda, MD 20814* O: 612.703.6992 *Lightning Round Trainee Competition at the 187th meeting of the Acoustical Society of America: Virtual Fall Meeting* *Call for Abstracts* Calling all trainees working in communication sciences and disorders, hearing science, audiology, or related fields. The Acoustical Society of America is hosting a virtual competition for trainees to present their research in a 5-minute lightning round competition. Presentations will be judged by a panel of established researchers in Physiological and Psychological Acoustics. Trainees accepted for the lightning round will have the opportunity to attend a virtual workshop focused on developing skills for short presentations prior to the Fall ASA meeting. The authors of the top 6 presentations will each be invited to give podium presentations at the 188th Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States and a $750 prize to offset travel costs. Winners will also attend a luncheon with established researchers in the field for an opportunity to network and familiarize themselves with the conference. Please submit a descriptive abstract of no more than 200 words for the presentation via the ASA Abstract Submission site <https://asa2024fall.abstractcentral.com/>. Be sure your topic area falls under the scope of ASA=E2=80=99s Physiological and Psychological Acoustics: 1) Perception and perceptual organization of simple and complex sounds, including speech 2) Anatomy and function of the auditory pathways, including all physical and biological responses to auditory stimulation 3) Hearing disorders, hearing loss, and auditory prostheses 4) Vibrotactile and vestibular sensation, and the interaction of hearing with other sensory modalities 5) Developmental, aging, learning and plasticity effects in auditory function 6) Theories and models of auditory processes The session will be first-come, first-served after abstracts not falling within the scope are removed. --000000000000f4a5e3061d782452 Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <div dir=3D"ltr">Hello Auditory list,<div><br></div><div>Apologies for repo= sting.
