Continuously fund= ed since 1997, NCRAR is one of fourteen national Centers funded by the VA Re= habilitation Research and Development Service, but the only such Center dedi= cated to the discovery and delivery of cutting-edge solutions to auditory sy= stem impairments and balance dysfunction. NCRAR rehabilitation researchers e= ffectively leverage the Center=E2=80=99s substantial infrastructure of share= d equipment and facilities resources, biostatistics, engineering and researc= h administration support services to compete for investigator-initiated, pee= r-reviewed research funding. NCRAR carries out clinical trials, develops tec= hnologies, and plays an important role in cultivating the next generation of= auditory researchers through education and mentoring programs. The Center i= s closely allied with the Oregon Health & Science University Departments= of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery, Bioengineering, Neurology and Ps= ychiatry. Partial salary support or start-up funding may be available, depen= ding on the qualifications of the investigator.
