The ideal candidate will have e= xperience in comprehensive audiological diagnostics and demonstrated knowle= dge and expertise in hearing device technology and management in adult popu= lations. They will provide direct services to participants while engaging i= n the conduct of clinical and basic research specifically in the areas of h= earing device and related technology, auditory perception, aural rehabilita= tion, and electrophysiological evaluation. In addition, they will have the = opportunity to supervise student research assistants and to provide audiolo= gical clinical services in the UCF Communication Disorders clinic. The succ= essful candidate will join a diverse CTRC faculty and staff in a dynamic un= iversity with high research activity (RU/H), a robust clinical program with= established patient populations, and an environment that fosters collabora= tion, innovation, and professional development. Responsibilities will include: * Comprehensive audiological assessment of research participants with a foc= us on the adult and geriatric populations * Hearing device evaluation, fitting, verification, and follow-up * Counseling of patients in clinical trials for new device technologies, fe= ature evaluations, and cognitive communicative function * Opportunities to participate in tinnitus and hyperacusis evaluations and = clinical trials * Opportunities to participate in simulation technologies including virtual= and augmented reality systems for evaluation, measurement, and clinical us= e * Ability to follow detailed research protocols including auditory perceptu= al measures, speech perception, physiological measures of otoacoustic emiss= ions, audiological evoked responses, electroencephalography (EEG), and func= tional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), with training provided as needed= . * Assist in development of new research protocols and proposals * Proficiency with audiology-specific software and data management software * Opportunity to participate in research conferences and research presentat= ions About Us The Communication Technologies Research Center (CTRC) is a new center in th= e School of Communication Sciences and Disorders focused on basic and appli= ed research to solve communication problems through the combination of beha= vioral sciences, electrophysiology, assistive technology, and computational= methods.
