Description of the Position The Auditory Electrophysiology Lab at The Department of Otolaryngology - He= ad and Neck Surgery at The Ohio State University is seeking a skilled and m= otivated postdoctoral researcher. The projects use electrophysiological measures to evaluate neural encoding = and processing of electrical stimulation at both the peripheral and the cen= tral levels of the auditory system in adult and pediatric cochlear implant = (CI) users. The long-term goals of this research are to understand mechanis= ms underlying variations in CI outcomes, and to develop an effective, evide= nce-based clinical practice for managing CI users who cannot provide reliab= le behavioral responses. Skills and Qualifications The successful candidate will hold a PhD in biomedical engineering, hearing= science or related field. Experience in cochlear implantation, auditory el= ectrophysiology, computational modeling is desired. Other desired qualifica= tions include paying attention to details, good writing skills, and willing= to work with listeners across a wide age range.
