Job Summary The Auditory Histological Technician will be responsible for evaluating the= effects of noise and ototoxic exposures on cochlear and neural anatomy wit= hin the auditory system of rodents as part of NIH and DoD funded projects t= hat span several labs. Responsibilities will include performing rodent per= fusions, cochlear and brain dissections, immunohistochemical staining, imag= ing ( e.g. brightfield, DIC, confocal) to quantify cochlear (e.g., hair-cel= l and stereocilial) damage as well as neural damage in the brain. Other res= ponsibilities will include student training on dissections/histology/imagin= g, maintenance of the histology lab and microscope and associated software,= histological data curation and backup, as well as general lab organization= including ordering of supplies. Ability to keep accurate records and excel= lent organizational skills are essential. Required experience: * Bachelor's degree in related field * 2 years of experience in histology and imaging * Dissections, immunohistochemical staining, imaging; basic kno= wledge of neuroscience, biology, and chemistry.
