The Cogan Lab (PI: Gregory Cogan) at Duke University is seeking a clinical research specialist/research assistant to join the lab. Research in the lab focuses on understanding the neural computations that underlie speech, language, and cognition. We use a combination of invasive recordings in adult and pediatric epilepsy patients: stereo-electroencephalography - SEEG, and electrocorticography =E2=80=93 EC= oG, and non-invasive recordings in healthy participants: electroencephalography =E2= =80=93 EEG. We also collaborate closely with the Viventi Lab (viventi.pratt.duke.edu- Department of Biomedical Engineering) to develop cutting-edge high density/channel count micro-electroencephalography (=C2= =B5ECoG =E2=80=93 up to 1024 electrodes with ~1 mm spacing) to record from function= al neurosurgery patients (e.g. epilepsy, movement disorders, tumor patients) to better understand the micro-scale of human cognition. See the lab website for more information: http://www.coganlab.org Responsibilities include consenting patients for research, the maintenance of IRB documentation, data collection, preprocessing of behavioral and neurophysiological data, and general administrivia. Some work on occasional weekends is necessary. Training will be provided. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about a career in clinical research, and/or science/medicine/engineering and be self-motivated, independent, creative, and have interest in speech/language, and/or cognitive/systems neuroscience. They will also have great interpersonal skills and a strong willingness to learn. Candidates should have an undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g. Neuroscience, Psychology, Engineering, Biology, etc.). Duke University is an excellent and highly interdisciplinary place for research. Collaborators span multiple departments/institutes including the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences, the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience, Psychology and Neuroscience, Neurosurgery, and Biomedical Engineering. The position is open until filled. Interested applicants can send a CV, a brief statement of interest, as well as contact information for two references to: gregory [dot] cogan [at] duke [dot] edu --000000000000c1e0b905f278c402 Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <div dir=3D"ltr"><p style=3D"background:transparent;border:0px;margin:0px;o= utline:0px;padding:0px;vertical-align:baseline;font-size:18px;color:rgb(0,0= ,0)"><span style=3D"background:transparent;border:0px;margin:0px;outline:0p= x;padding:0px;vertical-align:baseline"><span style=3D"background:transparen= t;border:0px;margin:0px;outline:0px;padding:0px;vertical-align:baseline">Po= sition reopened!
<p style=3D"background:transparent;border= :0px;margin:0px;outline:0px;padding:0px;vertical-align:baseline;font-size:1= 8px;color:rgb(0,0,0)"><span style=3D"background:transparent;border:0px;marg= in:0px;outline:0px;padding:0px;vertical-align:baseline"><span style=3D"back= ground:transparent;border:0px;margin:0px;outline:0px;padding:0px;vertical-a= lign:baseline">The Cogan Lab (PI: Gregory Cogan) at Duke University is seek= ing a clinical research specialist/research assistant to join the lab.</spa= n>
<p style=3D"background:transparent;border:0px;margin:0px;outli= ne:0px;padding:0px;vertical-align:baseline;font-size:18px;color:rgb(0,0,0)"= ><span style=3D"background:transparent;border:0px;margin:0px;outline:0px;pa= dding:0px;vertical-align:baseline"><span style=3D"background:transparent;bo= rder:0px;margin:0px;outline:0px;padding:0px;vertical-align:baseline">Resear= ch in the lab focuses on understanding the neural computations that underli= e speech, language, and cognition.
