Hi there,

Is anyone aware of the original references for the measurement of ion 
concentrations in the Cochlea hair cells ?

Most papers assume ion concentrations without citing experimental 
measurement papers. They also do not cite theoretical treatment which 
explains assumptions. The general assumption (in most of the literature) 
is that the hair cell cytoplasm is similar to neural cytoplasm with high 
K+ concentrations and low Cl-, Na+ concentrations.
