A PhD in Hearing Science/Audiology or a r= elated field is required. Housed within the state-of-the-art Lyles-Porter Hall, The Department of Spe= ech, Language, and Hearing Sciences<http://www.purdue.edu/hhs/slhs/> has ac= credited and highly ranked clinical programs in Audiology and Speech-Langua= ge Pathology, and awards Bachelors, Masters, AuD, and PhD degrees. With 20 = tenure track and 14 clinical faculty members, the Department is diverse and= collegial, and hosts a thriving interdisciplinary community. Research area= s represented in the Department include Speech & Hearing Sciences, Neurosci= ence, Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology, and Linguistics. Research-clini= cal collaborations are encouraged and are facilitated by the M.D. Steer Spe= ech and Hearing Clinic housed within the building, which serves as a Medica= re and third-party insurance provider, provides diagnostic and rehabilitati= ve services to patients across the lifespan - including infants, and averag= es over 2,000 patient visits a year. Faculty have access to an adjacent MRI research facility and have the oppor= tunity to capitalize on an extraordinary network of collaborations and reso= urces that includes strong support for inter-disciplinary and translational= research.
