The research technician will work with the principal investigator, Dr. Kelly Jahn, to build the new laboratory and launch several research projects. Dr. Jahn=E2=80=99s research combines neuroimaging and behavioral techniques to investigate auditory processing in individuals with typical and impaired hearing and to develop individualized treatments for hearing loss. The research technician will be actively involved in all aspects of the research process including equipment set-up and calibration, experimental design, participant recruitment, data collection, data analysis, and disseminating research findings via manuscript preparation and conference presentations. The position requires a 2-year commitment and would provide excellent training for an individual interested in pursuing graduate studies in neuroscience, psychology, speech and hearing sciences, audiology, engineering, or a related field. Preferred education and experience: Bachelor=E2=80=99s degree in neuroscien= ce, psychology, engineering, audiology, and/or speech and hearing sciences; programming experience (e.g., MATLAB, R, or Python) or interest in expanding programming skills; experience working or volunteering in a research laboratory. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently on quantitative/programming tasks. Previous experience working with individuals who are deaf/hard of hearing is a plus.
