The goal is not to disparage these ideas, but rather to reconsider their original value and evaluate the need for caution or replacement with more modern results and methods. Contributions will provide both respectful historical context to the classic ideas, and also new original research that clarifies the limitations of the original ideas. This special issue is intended to be a resource for guiding research methodology and teaching that can guide researchers in related fields.
