We thought to reach out through this list, as there = are perhaps some native Dutch speakers receiving this list who are outside = our local network of participants. We are using an online version of the Coordinate Response Measure (CRM). Th= is measure requires participants to identify target words (colour, number) = from a target sentence, spoken in the presence of a gibberish speech masker= . Here is an example of a target sentence: =91Laat de hond zien waar de rode (colour) twee (number) is=92 (Show the do= g where the red two is) Specifically, we are looking at whether there is a difference in performanc= e between musicians and non-musicians on this task, both with vocoded and n= on-vocoded speech streams. At the moment, we are recruiting native Dutch mu= sicians and non-musicians, both adults over the age of 18 and older adults = over the age of 60, so that we can measure whether any differences in perfo= rmance extend to older age. The experiment can be conducted in the comfort = of your own home and takes approximately 45minutes to complete, with schedu= led short breaks throughout. You will receive an invitation email with furt= her information and an encrypted link to the experiment, should you be inte= rested in participating. Participants will be reimbursed for their time (= =808) via bank transfer to a Dutch bank (if your bank is outside NL, let us= know ahead of time!) The criteria for both musicians and non-musicians are as follows: Musicians =96 Began music lessons before the age of 7, received formal trai= ning for at least 10 years, and have been musically active within the last = 4 years. Non-Musicians =96 Do not fulfil any of the above criteria and have not been= musically active within the last 7 years.
