Acknowledging the ever-rising importance of the Internet of Things (IoT) in our environment, we believe that the time has come to bring together researchers who are considering the use of IoT components to pursue research in Sound and Music computing. The Internet of Sounds (IoS) is an emerging research field positioned at the intersection of the IoT, Sound and Music Computing and Semantic Audio domains. IoS can also be seen as the union of two paradigms, the Internet of Musical Things and the Internet of Audio Things, which respectively address musical and non-musical domains in networked contexts. This Special Issue aims to present high-quality original research reporting the current state of the art of IoS systems as well as their interactions with end-users. We are interested in submissions covering different aspects related to the use of sound and music processing in relation to local or remote networks, including technological, perceptual, and artistic perspectives. *Topics* Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following areas: =E2=80=A2 Wireless acoustic sensor networks =E2=80=A2 Detection and classification of sounds in acoustic sensor network= s =E2=80=A2 Visualization and Sonification of acoustic sensor networks =E2=80=A2 Ecoacoustics =E2=80=A2 Privacy and security in acoustic sensor networks =E2=80=A2 Networked music performances =E2=80=A2 Smart Musical Instruments =E2=80=A2 Musical haptics for the Internet of Musical Things =E2=80=A2 Participatory live music performances =E2=80=A2 Music education applications for the Internet of Musical Things =E2=80=A2 Intelligent music production in Internet of Musical Things contex= ts =E2=80=A2 Ubiquitous music =E2=80=A2 Web Audio for the Internet of Sounds =E2=80=A2 Spatial audio for the Internet of Sounds =E2=80=A2 Sonification for Internet of Sounds applications =E2=80=A2 Protocols and exchange formats for the Internet of Sounds =E2=80=A2 Improving accessibility and inclusiveness within the Internet of = Sounds =E2=80=A2 Open audio databases for Deep Learning and Data Mining =E2=80=A2 Challenges in the management and delivery of large audio database= s =E2=80=A2 Visualization, access and indexing of audio databases =E2=80=A2 Cloud-based services for musical and audio applications *Important dates* =E2=80=A2 Manuscript submission due: March 1st, 2021 =E2=80=A2 First round decision made: May 15th, 2021 =E2=80=A2 Revised manuscript due: June 15th, 2021 =E2=80=A2 Final paper due: July 15th, 2021 =E2=80=A2 Publication: October 2021 *Guest Editors* =E2=80=A2 Luca Turchet (Department of Information Engineering and Computer = Science, University of Trento) =E2=80=A2 George Fazekas (Centre for Digital Music, Queen Mary University o= f London) =E2=80=A2 Cristina Rottondi (Department of Electronics and Telecommunicatio= ns, Polytechnic University of Turin) =E2=80=A2 Carlo Fischione (Department of Network and Systems Engineering, K= TH Royal Institute of Technology) *Author guidelines* Please submit complete 6 to 8-page papers by March 1, 2021.
